Good Morning Neighbors.

We are right in the middle of Hannukah and Christmas is right around the corner. Based on the results from the Friday after Thanksgiving, NTB will only run on Tuesdays the next two weeks. Then we will get back to our regular schedule. Speaking of, you may have noticed there wasn’t a North Tampa Buzz this past Tuesday. There was a software issue that deleted the newsletter, but we are back now!

Beef N Buns Coming to Wesley Chapel

A burger spot out of Orlando called Beef N Buns is getting ready to open on Bruce B Downs, right around the end of December. This will be their second location, and everything on the menu is halal, from the smash burgers to the chicken sandwiches and wings. They’re setting up a fast-casual place with about 70 seats, and they’re known for using fresh ingredients, house-made sauces, and some creative burger combos. The owners say they saw a need for high-quality halal American-style food in the area, so they’re bringing it here. A third location is already planned for Plantation in early 2026.

Another New Burger Spot on the Way

Temple Terrace is getting its own halal smashburger place called Haddaburger, aiming to open in January. It’s a simple, fast-casual setup with a small menu built around high-quality smashburgers, house-made sauces, and toppings cooked right into the patty. They’re also putting a big focus on milkshakes with flavors like saffron, rose, and mango, plus some fun sides like Nashville-style mozzarella logs and loaded fries. All of it will be halal certified, and they’re planning to be open daily once construction wraps up.

Pasco County Animal Services Presents: Mack

Mack (A036359) is an 8yo perfectly-sized Corgi mix at 24 pounds. He was brought to PCAS as a stray. Mack was adopted previously, but was returned for chasing the household cats. Mack is not showing well in his kennel because he sometimes barks at shelter visitors. Mack has been an office foster & was very well behaved and friendly each time he hung out with the office staff!

Honoring Veterans at Lutz Cemetery

Volunteers gathered at the historic Lutz Cemetery last weekend for Wreaths Across America, placing wreaths and flags at the graves of more than 220 veterans. Local youth groups played a big role in the effort, helping clean sites and honor service members dating all the way back to the Civil War. Organizers say getting young people involved is key to keeping these stories alive and reminding future generations of the sacrifices made. The cemetery is also adding helpful tools like GPS mapping and QR codes so families can easily find graves and learn more about each veteran’s history.

Pasco Loosens Rules for Homeowners Hit by Hurricanes

Pasco County is making it a little easier for families recovering from storm damage to get the help they need. Commissioners voted to remove a rule that would have required homeowners who receive more than $50,000 in federal aid to take out a mortgage and stay in their home for three years. County staff pushed for the rule as a fraud safeguard, but most commissioners felt it added too much pressure on families already dealing with major losses.

The county says the risk of fraud is low thanks to heavy screening and cross-checking with FEMA, SBA, and flood insurance data. Commissioners also pointed out that families should have the flexibility to move if they need to, especially after going through a flood. The housing recovery program opened Dec. 1 and is part of a $300 million federal grant aimed at repairing homes damaged in last year’s hurricanes.

A Fun North Pole Walk-Through in Land O’ Lakes

There’s a family in Land O’ Lakes that has turned their house into a full North Pole walk-through again this year, and it’s pretty awesome. They built everything by hand, with holiday scenes, Santa’s Village, a post office, and even a scavenger hunt. It’s totally free to check out on weekends and people are already lining up early.
