Happy Friday! I’m thrilled with the turnout for our first Dinner Club! The feedback was phenomenal, and we’ve already discussed a couple of small tweaks to make the next one even better.
It was great seeing everyone come together at the “after party” at The Brass Tap at The Shops at Wiregrass. We’ll continue scheduling Dinner Clubs (the next one is already scheduled in Carrollwood!) while also finding new ways to bring the community together. Here’s a photo of everyone at the after party.

Dinner Club
Wednesday 9/16 @ 7pm in Carrollwood (right there along Dale Mabry, of course)
Just a reminder of how it works, you’ll be asked some questions, matched with 5 neighbors for dinner (you’ll find out the restaurant the day of), you’ll make new friends, then you’ll get a text letting you know where all the parties will meet afterwards. The first Dinner Club was a smash hit!
With the Carrollwood Dinner Club scheduled for 9/16, if we scheduled one the following week, where else would be a good location?

More Sidewalks Coming Near Pasco Schools
This is a welcome improvement for families with kids who walk or bike to school. Pasco County has secured more than $22 million to build 14.5 miles of new sidewalks near schools, with 14 projects planned across the county.
Work has already started on 2.6 miles near Pineview Elementary and Pineview Middle in Land O’ Lakes. Future projects include sidewalks near schools in Wesley Chapel, Bexley, Trinity and Dade City, along with new crossing signals and other safety improvements in some areas.
Rays Stadium Clears Tampa Vote
After all the votes, funding plans and hurdles, the Rays stadium deal has cleared the city. Tampa City Council approved the city’s $80 million share in a narrow 4-3 vote for the proposed $2.3 billion stadium and entertainment district on Dale Mabry Highway.
Now it’s Hillsborough County’s turn. Commissioners are scheduled to vote today on the county’s $796 million contribution. If approved, the project would move toward construction, with the Rays aiming to open the new stadium for the 2029 season.

Little Greek Coming to New River
A recent Little Greek expansion announcement listed a new traditional restaurant for “Lutz,” but it appears to be the Wesley Chapel location planned for 33787 Wesley Chapel Blvd. The restaurant is going into Phase II of the Shops at New River, near New River Road and next to the plaza with 2+2 Restaurant.
The lease was first confirmed in June, with Bubbakoo’s Burritos and Wesley Chapel Dental Care also joining the new plaza. Little Greek’s location page is now live and lists the restaurant as under construction, although an opening date has not been announced.

Pasco Ends License Plate Reader Agreement
License plate readers have become quite the topic across Florida, and now Pasco is making a major change. Sheriff Chris Nocco announced that the county’s agreement allowing the camera systems will end Sept. 30 after a majority of county commissioners withdrew their support.
Nocco opposed ending the agreement, saying his office required searches to be tied to a case or call for service and kept the data for only 30 days. The change does not mean every reader will disappear. Cameras on private property, at retail centers and along state-controlled roads may remain.
Tampa Airport Drops Private Security Plan
Travelers won’t see any changes at Tampa International Airport’s security checkpoints. The airport has dropped its plan to replace federal TSA workers with employees from a private contractor after reviewing the program and raising questions about its technology.
The TSA also discontinued the privatization program nationwide. More than 700 security employees work at Tampa International, and current security operations will remain in place.Quick Buzz Bite
Construction is underway near Wesley Chapel Boulevard and Gateway Drive for a new Olive Garden, Seasons 52 and Heartland Dental office.
Rays Promise Benefits Beyond Baseball
There’s a lot more attached to the proposed Rays stadium than baseball. The team released a community benefits plan covering affordable housing, local hiring, workforce programs, transportation improvements, youth sports, literacy programs and affordable ticket access.
The important catch is that the proposal does not yet say how much money would be invested, how many homes or jobs it would create, or when the programs would begin. Final requirements and enforceable terms would still need to be established, with 65% of the benefits planned for Hillsborough County and 35% for Tampa.
