Homes For Our Troops Welcomes Two Local Heroes Home

Wesley Chapel had two very special reasons to celebrate this month. Former Marine Sgt. Christopher Lawrence and former Army Sgt. Quincy Lopez both received the keys to their brand-new, specially adapted homes through Homes For Our Troops, a nonprofit that builds custom homes for severely injured veterans.

Both men lost their right legs while serving in Iraq and have shown incredible strength, perseverance, and heart. Their new homes, built by Kent Custom Homes, were unveiled in a joint ceremony surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors. Sgt. Lawrence and Sgt. Lopez each raised the American flag outside their new front doors, marking a new chapter filled with independence, gratitude, and hope.

Pasco County Animal Services Presents: Kubo

Kubo (A036367) is a 5 year old red pittie weighing 50lbs. Kubo was previously adopted, but his adopter was moving to a new place that does not allow dogs. Kubo is good with his children, is housebroken, and had no issues in the adopter’s home. Kubo is heartworm positive & has a little skin issue on his neck. He’s a calm, laid back pup.

PHSC’s Bold Vision for Health Care Education

Pasco-Hernando State College is stepping into a new era under President Dr. Eric Hall, and the focus couldn’t be clearer: training the next generation of nurses and health care professionals right here at home.

Local Community Spotlight: Chad Peterson | CAP Security Solutions

Meet Chad Peterson, the founder of CAP Security Solutions and a proud member of our Wesley Chapel community! Chad helps local and national businesses in industries like healthcare, insurance, and technology strengthen their security through services such as Governance, Risk & Compliance advisory and virtual CISO support. His mission is simple: to make security a tool that helps businesses grow rather than just another box to check.

Outside of his professional work, Chad brings plenty of personality—he has a degree in Journalism, once raced professionally as a drag racer, and now enjoys spending down-time cooking and cheering on his favorite sports teams, and watching his favorite athlete, his son, play football and go-karting. Chad believes “security is a journey, not a destination,” and he brings that passion to both his work and his community.

Crafts, Drafts, and a Little Halloween Spirit

Amidst all the Oktoberfest parties, pumpkin patches, and haunted houses, here’s something a little different to kick off the season. BarrieHaus Beer Co in Trinity just celebrated their first anniversary and is hosting a Crafts & Drafts night featuring a Rope Ghost Workshop with materials, finishes, and a BOGO on beverages.

This workshop is hosted by Daydream Collective, a creative local group known for bringing people together through monthly community crafts and DIY experiences. This one’s all about crafting your own rope ghost, a beginner-friendly project that pairs perfectly with good friends and cold drinks.

Each attendee will have everything they need to create fully customized Halloween décor, complete with a choice of finishes. Tickets include all materials and BOGO 50% off drink pricing courtesy of BarrieHaus Beer Co.
