Fresh Bowls Coming to Lutz

It’s finally here! The long skinny green and white building going up among many others at the corner of Sunlake and 54 is about ready to open. Healthy eaters, rejoice! Greenlane is opening its fourth location on September 8 at Wingshooter Way. The Tampa-based chain is known for its fresh salads, wraps, and speedy drive-thru service.

Backed by the one and only lovable Rob Gronkowski, the new spot is launching just in time for fall with “The Gronk” salad and wrap, plus seasonal treats like a Caramel Apple Pie Cookie and caramel apple drinks. Another Lutz location is already in the works for later this year.

Pasco County Animal Services Waives Fees

On Tuesday we met Isla from Pasco County Animal Services. Well, today and tomorrow they are waiving adoption fees. Feel free to go meet her!

Land O’ Lakes Neighbor Hits the Jackpot

Maybe this is one of those, it’s only good news if it happens to me situations. But at least we can be happy it was in our neighborhood, Joel Zebell of Land O’ Lakes just scratched his way to a $5 million win on the Florida Lottery’s CA$H MONEY game. He bought the golden ticket at the Circle K on Land O’ Lakes Boulevard. Instead of annual payments, he took home a one-time payout of just over $3 million. Not a bad day’s work for a $20 ticket

Pickleball + Pints in Temple Terrace

This pickleball craze is getting out of hand(dle). Feel free to judge me for that one. Temple Terrace may soon get a big boost downtown with an $8 million pickleball-and-entertainment complex called Blazing Paddles. The plan includes 12 courts, a restaurant, brewery, live music, and plenty of space for games like cornhole and shuffleboard.

City leaders have some concerns about financing, but most see it as a chance to finally give downtown a fresh draw. If it moves forward, neighbors could see new jobs, new hangouts, and maybe even less driving to Lutz (for Ace Pickleball).

Keeping Seniors Scam-Safe

The Area Agency on Aging is warning Pasco-Pinellas neighbors about Medicare scams, like braces or test kits mailed to seniors who never asked for them. The catch? Seniors don’t pay, but Medicare gets billed big bucks. Add in fake phone calls fishing for Medicare numbers, and the fraud adds up fast.

The Senior Medicare Patrol helps folks spot and report these tricks before they drain resources. Last year, more than 4,600 locals used the program — and help is just a call away at 727-217-8111.
