Good Morning!
It’s dipping into the 30s again tonight, which has to be our last cold spell… right? The sun’s sticking around a little longer each evening, and we’ll ease back into the 70s midweek before nudging the 80s this weekend. That feels more like us.
And what a way to close out the Olympics. USA takes gold in overtime over Canada for the first time in 46 years. If you didn’t at least think about putting on Miracle and channeling a little Herb Brooks energy, I get it. Spring forward is March 8, and it really does feel like we’re turning the page.

I asked where everyone went last weekend, and no surprise here… markets took the lead. Fresh air, local vendors, and a little strolling seems to win every time.

Free Food Distribution in Lacoochee
If you know anyone in east Pasco who could use a hand, this is worth sharing. Several Pasco organizations are hosting a free food distribution on Thursday, March 5 at the Boys & Girls Club of Lacoochee, 38724 Mudcat Grant Blvd.
The event starts at 9:00 a.m., but it’s first-come, first-served and supplies are expected to go quickly. It’s a joint effort between the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, Pasco Sheriff’s Charities, Farm Share, the Boys & Girls Club of Lacoochee, the Gentlemen’s Course, and the Pasco County NAACP to help address food needs in the Lacoochee and greater Dade City area.

Equestrian Circus Coming to Lutz
This is a little different than your typical weekend show. Cirque Ma’Ceo, a traveling equestrian circus, is coming to Lutz at Avalon Stables from February 27 through March 8.
The show blends live horsemanship and acrobatics inside an intimate tent setting, with seating designed to keep you close to the action. It’s part of a nationwide tour and stops in Ocala before heading here.

Another Greenlane Coming by Outlets
Wesley Chapel is getting another quick, healthy option in the mix. Greenlane is opening a new drive-thru location near Tampa Premium Outlets on February 25.
The new spot is at 24801 State Road 54, just west of the outlets, and it will be the brand’s first with a dedicated mobile-order drive-thru lane. A grand opening is set for March 10, featuring $6 salads or wraps with chicken or tofu. Hours are expected to run about 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Timeline Set for Pasco K–8 Changes
You’ve already heard about the consolidation, but here’s what’s new. The School Board officially approved the plan, locking in the timeline for when changes will roll out.
New boundaries for the Pasco K–8 campus take effect in the 2026–2027 school year. Lacoochee Elementary will add 6th grade in 2027–2028, 7th in 2028–2029, and 8th in 2029–2030. Additional rezoning proposals are expected to come before the board this spring.
Rays Stadium Talks Move Forward Again
And yes… here we are again with another Rays update.
The Florida Cabinet is considering transferring 22 acres of state land to Hillsborough College to help make room for a potential Tampa Bay Rays stadium at the Dale Mabry campus. If approved, parts of the stadium or surrounding development would need to begin within five years or the state could reclaim the land. The Rays say they’re targeting an April 2029 opening and plan to cover 50% of the projected cost, which could reach $2.3 billion, while public funding sources are still being negotiated.

Pasco County Animal Services Presents: Maggie

Maggie (A043352) is a 9 month old, spayed puppy who is looking to finally land in a stable home. Maggie is sweet and affectionate; she does an endearing head tilt when you walk up to her kennel! Being under a year old, Maggie has puppy energy. (Zoomies for days!) Maggie was previously adopted and returned for being a “poor fit” for the home. She hasn’t had an opportunity to really settle in with a family and have proper training. Maggie would be great in a home where she can learn manners to boost her confidence.
