Good morning! I’m sure you heard about the heist at the Louvre, where thieves got away (on a cherry picker??) with more than $100 million in jewelry. Those fools didn’t know they could’ve been in Madrid and across Europe stealing chairs instead.

Police say a group pulled off a very different kind of operation, swiping more than 1,100 restaurant chairs and tables from outdoor cafés and terraces across several countries, then reselling them to unsuspecting businesses. Bold move, Cotton.

AdventHealth Carrollwood’s CNO Turns Her Own Diagnosis into a Teaching Moment

After being diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer through a routine mammogram in May 2024, the hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer, Jill Mendez, is using her experience to encourage staff and the wider community to prioritize screenings. She emphasizes that early detection literally saved her life and is now leading education efforts at the hospital.

By sharing her story, Mendez is helping shift perspectives: as a healthcare leader, she says her platform allows her to reach more people—and her goal is simple yet powerful – “encourage early detection” for all women.

MOSI Site Moves Forward with New Field House Plans

The long-discussed redevelopment of the former MOSI site in North Tampa is officially moving forward. Hillsborough County has approved a $5 million design contract with O SPORTS to begin plans for a major indoor “field house” complex that will feature 11 multipurpose courts, event space, a café, and outdoor areas. The project is part of a larger $70 million vision to transform the 73-acre site near the University of South Florida into a vibrant community hub.

The field house is expected to anchor future development in the area, with construction anticipated to begin once the design phase wraps up in 2026 and completion targeted around 2028. County leaders say the new facility will attract major youth and amateur tournaments while boosting nearby businesses and spurring new growth in the University Area.

New Rehabilitation Hospital Coming to Pasco County

Encompass Health has unveiled plans to construct a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the master-planned community of Wiregrass Ranch in Wesley Chapel, set to open in 2027. The facility will support patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions, offering 24-hour nursing care, private rooms, a therapy gym and advanced rehab technologies.
