Good Morning From Lutz,

Lots of storms this week! The forecast calls for a good chance of rain and thunderstorms most afternoons. Hopefully not quite as active as yesterday.

There's a ton going on, and we're making a big announcement below. We'd love to hear what you think and get your feedback before we launch.

Have a great rest of the week!

-Mike

Big Announcement

🍽️ Introducing the North Tampa Buzz Dinner Club

Here's how it works:

• Take a quick personality quiz.
• You'll be matched with five other local readers who share similar interests and personalities.
• We have it set up to handle everything else, including the restaurant reservation and logistics.
• You simply show up, enjoy dinner, and meet some new people.

This isn't speed dating or a networking event. It's just a relaxed dinner with people you probably wouldn't have met otherwise.

This platform has already helped launch dinner clubs for many local newsletters and media brands across the country, connecting thousands of people over dinner while making it incredibly easy for publishers to bring their communities together in real life.

I'm still finalizing the details, including the restaurant and the first date sometime in August, but I'd love your input before we launch. This will rotate around the geographical footprint of North Tampa Buzz and will likely start in Wesley Chapel for our first run.

Would you be interested in attending something like this if it were close to you?

Please share any restaurants around Wesley Chapel or the Tampa Premium Outlets area that you think would make for a great Dinner Club experience.

Fresh Market-Centered Shopping Hub Takes Shape

Plans are moving ahead for a major commercial development at the southwest corner of S.R. 56 and Mansfield Blvd. in Wiregrass Ranch (kitty corner to the new Orlando Health complex). County plans continue to point to The Fresh Market as the anchor tenant, although the grocery chain hasn't officially announced the location. The boutique grocery store would be joined by nearly 30 retail and restaurant spaces in the first phase.

The 59-acre project is roughly comparable in size to The Shops at Wiregrass and will eventually include 10 development parcels. Only three have been submitted so far, leaving room for additional restaurants, retail, offices, and other commercial uses as the project continues to build out over the coming years.

Back-to-School Bash Roundup

Back-to-school season is almost here, and that means free family events are popping up all over Pasco, Hillsborough, Hernando, and surrounding communities. Here are a few upcoming back-to-school bashes where kids can enjoy fun activities, families can connect with local organizations, and many events will also offer free school supplies while they last. Check this out from 10 Tampa Bay News.

Lagoon Lager Debuts At MetroLagoons

A new local collaboration is giving lagoon visitors something else to enjoy this summer. MetroLagoons has partnered with Wesley Chapel's Florida Avenue Brewing Co. to create Lagoon Lager, a light craft beer brewed exclusively for guests at the company's four Florida lagoon locations, including Epperson Lagoon and Mirada Lagoon.

The new lager features a hint of tangerine and is now available at all MetroLagoons locations, making it an easy excuse to support two Tampa Bay-grown businesses on your next lagoon day.

Traffic Signal Coming To Lake Patience Road

I’m not sure if we need to slow traffic down but I’m betting this is still necessary. A long-awaited traffic signal is on the way to the intersection of U.S. 41 and Lake Patience Road in Land O' Lakes. The $1.4 million Florida Department of Transportation project will add the new signal, along with resurfacing, sidewalks, lighting, and other safety improvements at an intersection that has seen years of crashes and congestion.

Lake Patience Road has become a major route for drivers heading between U.S. 41 and Sunlake Boulevard, especially during rush hour and school pickup at Oakstead Elementary. Construction is now underway, although FDOT has not yet announced when the new signal will be activated.

BroadwayWorld Praises New Tampa's Annie

If you're looking for a local night at the theater, BroadwayWorld is giving high marks to New Tampa Players' production of Annie at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center. The review praises the talented cast, live orchestra, and family-friendly production of the beloved musical featuring favorites like "Tomorrow" and "It's the Hard-Knock Life."

Performances run through August 2 at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center, so there's still time to catch this local production before the curtain closes.

Pasco County Animal Services Presents: King

King A046532 is a 3-year old Staffy weighing 68lbs, who was abandoned at our shelter by his owner back in April. King took a while to come out of his shell – his confidence understandably was shaken. King is a volunteer favorite – he is a sweet boy whose personality is blossoming more every day.
