Good Morning and Happy Veterans Day. Is crisp the right word to describe the weather today? I’m sure you probably have some other descriptive words in mind.
Serial Guinness World Record-breaker David Rush snapped 65 cucumbers in 30 seconds on the Spanish TV show El Hormiguero, breaking the previous record of 50. He said the stunt was part of his mission to show that STEM can be exciting, hands-on, and even a little crazy. So don’t worry about the strange looks from your neighbors when you’re out in the driveway motivating your 10-year-old to break a world record in the name of school.

It’s Finally Here
It’s posted everywhere by now. The Cheesecake Factory opens today at 11:30am at the Tampa Premium Outlets! I expect a wait, no doubt.
Ziggi’s Coffee Brewing in Wesley Chapel
Only one Ziggi’s Coffee location currently operates in Florida, but that’s about to change. The growing drive-thru coffee chain is planning a new spot in Wesley Chapel on Hueland Pond Blvd., just south of S.R. 56 near the 76 gas station and Daybreak Market. Plans call for a 1,800-square-foot shop with a drive-thru, parking, and drainage improvements.
Pasco County Animal Services Presents: Diesel
Diesel (A037063) is a 9 year old mixed male, weighing 62 pounds. Diesel is a chill guy who likes to meander during his walks and is housebroken. Diesel was found as a stray at the beginning of August. His finder shares that he did well men, women, and even their 8 year old child. He came in with a microchip, but his owner chose not to come for him. Diesel can be dog selective, so he would do best in a home where he is an only dog.
Quick note from the shelter: adoption fees are waived through Saturday, November 15. They’re currently operating at 134% capacity and could really use the community’s help, whether that’s adopting, fostering, or avoiding bringing in stray dogs unless absolutely necessary.

Battle for Veterans Honors Service Through History in Zephyrhills
Veterans Day weekend came alive at the Zephyrhills Museum of Military History as crowds gathered for the annual Battle for Veterans tribute. The three-day event featured live World War II reenactments, tanks, military aircraft, and living history exhibits spanning every era of U.S. service. Highlights included the dramatic “Breakout: Cobra 1944” reenactment, tank salutes, a downtown parade, and flyovers by restored P-51 Mustangs. Organizers said it was a true privilege to honor those who’ve served, from the heroes of World War II to today’s military men and women.
Conviva Wiregrass Grand Opening This Week
Conviva Senior Primary Care is celebrating the opening of its new Wesley Chapel center at 28516 State Road 54 with a free Grand Opening event on Wednesday, November 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Seniors are invited to stop by for tours, treats, bingo, music, and a chance to meet Dr. Kiran Naidoo and the care team.
Pay Bump for Pasco Teachers
We’ve discussed this in the past, and it’s finally coming to fruition. Pasco County teachers and staff will see raises in their upcoming paychecks. The School Board approved new contracts giving employees an average 2.5% raise, plus another 2.17% supplement funded by the voter-approved property tax referendum.
Superintendent John Legg said the district’s negotiations wrapped up smoothly compared to others still at an impasse. While health insurance costs are climbing, board members said this was the best package possible and thanked voters for helping fund the referendum, which has already made a noticeable difference in reducing teacher vacancies across the county.
