Good Morning Neighbor. If you need a reminder that Pasco is still Pasco, a stray goat and sheep were found wandering near Old Pasco Road in San Antonio, and the sheriff’s office is trying to find their owner. If they’re yours, I’ll barter five shillings for the pair.

Whataburger Plans Move Forward in Wesley Chapel
Whataburger is making another attempt to come to Tampa Bay, and Wesley Chapel will be one of the first stops. A permit has been filed to convert the former Aussie Grill on Sierra Center Blvd, right near SR 54 and Wesley Chapel Boulevard, into a brand-new Whataburger. The plans include a full interior and exterior remodel with updated restrooms, a refreshed kitchen and dining area, and that familiar orange-and-white look that fans love.

Construction is expected to kick off soon, with an opening targeted for early 2026. When it’s ready, you can expect 24/7 drive-thru service, app ordering, and all the made-to-order burgers that have kept Whataburger loyalists waiting for its return.

Here’s an Update on Things at Wiregrass
The Shops at Wiregrass is getting a major refresh to make it even more inviting. Expect more shaded seating, garden-style landscaping, upgraded fountains, and easier walkways. The goal is to turn the space into more of a lifestyle spot where you can shop, dine, and just hang out.

This is also where the live music takes place during their markets, and I’m definitely looking forward to enjoying it once all the construction wraps up!

Part of what’s new is Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine, set to open later this year, bringing authentic Turkish dishes like meze platters, kebabs, and pides to the mix.

And beyond the mall, the Legacy Wiregrass Ranch downtown project is moving ahead. Plans include offices, apartments, a hotel, food hall, and entertainment venues to create Wesley Chapel’s very own walkable town center.

Women’s Soccer Stadium Proposed for Ybor Harbor
Fresh off winning the first USL Super League championship, Tampa Bay Sun FC has unveiled plans for a 15,000-seat stadium as part of the Ybor Harbor waterfront development. The stadium would include a boutique hotel and sit within a 33-acre mixed-use project connecting Channelside, downtown Tampa, and Ybor City.

The project is still in early stages, so costs and construction timelines aren’t set yet. But leaders say the goal is to create a vibrant home for women’s pro soccer while boosting Ybor’s continued revitalization.

New Build-to-Rent Community Coming to Bexley
A 28.5-acre site in Bexley was just sold to Maymont Homes, who will team up with The Dinerstein Companies to build 250 single-family rental homes. These homes will have two or three bedrooms, private yards, and garages, plus access to a clubhouse, fitness center, parks, and a resort-style pool.

Pre-leasing is expected to start in spring 2026, with move-ins later that year. The site is near Bud Bexley Parkway and Sunlake Blvd and will connect to the Moffitt Cancer Center Pasco Life Sciences Campus and the Angeline community when the road is extended.

Heads-Up for Parents of Future Drivers
Starting July 1, Florida’s making it tougher for teens to get their learner’s permit. Although, not by much. Instead of that old 4-hour traffic law class, they’ll need to take a 6-hour driver’s ed course. The idea is to help kids become safer drivers, but here’s the rub, not many schools offer it, and it could mean more time, and hassle. If your teen is ready, now’s the time to get that permit done.

Or, if you want to force more training, which might not be a bad thing, you can wait until after July 1.

Fireworks Tent Now Open
There’s another fireworks tent opening and it’s at Hope Methodist Church on Little Road (2200 Little Road, NPR) running June 27–July 4, 10 AM–10 PM. I went over their pricing and chatted with the owners, they are very competitively priced. If you’re looking to stock up, check these folks out!
