Founded in 2025, Dads Figure It Out (DFIO) Foundation is a Tampa Bay nonprofit dedicated to supporting fathers, strengthening families and building community impact. On July 1, 2026, DFIO launched its Game Day Experience program, giving children, adults, veterans, foster youth, families and others navigating challenging circumstances the opportunity to experience live sports together.
In just its first two months, the program created 26 game-day experiences and provided 108 tickets. That impact is powered by the community. Fans donate tickets they cannot use, businesses sponsor meals, transportation and parking, sports organizations open doors, and community partners connect DFIO with those who could benefit.

Caminero Delivers Big Night for Little Leaguers
This had to be one of those nights the kids will talk about for years. Rays All-Star Junior Caminero joined Citrus Park and Town ’N’ Country Little Leaguers at Shimberg Sports Complex for a hitting and home run challenge hosted by Suncoast Credit Union.
Both leagues received $2,850 based on the players’ performance. Caminero capped the night by borrowing a young player’s aluminum bat and launching nearly a dozen balls over the fence.
Surf Park Clears Major Pasco Hurdle
The long-discussed surf park in eastern Wesley Chapel just moved a big step forward. Pasco commissioners approved the Two Rivers expansion, clearing the way for a 35-acre destination featuring a six-acre wave lagoon, a half-mile of beach, restaurants, bars, retail, wellness space and event space.
The approval also allows up to 240 additional apartments, but construction cannot begin until the surf park receives its certificate of occupancy or three years pass. Site planning and permitting come next, and no construction date has been announced.

Pasco Volunteers Take On Local Litter
It’s frustrating to see trash piling up near the same waterways and parks our families enjoy. This Saturday, hundreds of volunteers will join Keep Pasco Beautiful for a countywide cleanup aimed at removing litter and encouraging better habits.
Discarded fishing line, cigarette butts and vape pens are among the biggest concerns. Vapes require special handling because their lithium-ion batteries can create a fire hazard when tossed into regular trash or recycling.
Dade City Advances $84.5 Million Budget
Dade City’s proposed budget is taking a sizable jump, from nearly $63 million this year to about $84.5 million for 2026–27. City officials say much of the increase will fund major, long-term infrastructure projects, while the tentative property tax rate is lower than the previous two years.
The final public hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29 at 5:30 p.m. Commissioners also learned that the developer behind the proposed 1,014-home Rolling Hills community withdrew its request to establish the 149-acre property as a Community Development District.
Warlock House Opens for Family Spookfest
Here’s a fall outing with some real Wesley Chapel history behind it. The Warlock House Enchantment, created over decades by artist Lewis VanDercar, will open its gates for the first-ever Warlock Family Spookfest on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 2–6 p.m.
The kid-friendly event will feature magical villages, costumed characters, games, crafts, food, live entertainment and a “Warlock Apprentice Passport” activity. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 10 and older, and free for children under 10 at 25950 Queen Sago Place.
Pasco County Animal Services Presents: Kane
Kane (A048357) is a 6 year old, brown mixed breed neutered male weighing 60 pounds. He arrived at PCAS as a microchipped stray at the end of May. Kane’s owner did not come to reclaim. He is an absolutely gorgeous boy being overlooked, likely due to his size. However, Kane is dog social and participates in play group! We recently brought Kane to a weekend event, and he was the bestest boy. Come meet Kane!
