Good Morning From Lutz,
We’re right in the middle of a busy stretch with Easter, spring break crowds, and Pasco schools all lining up at once. The weather’s doing its usual thing too, steady and predictable for now, which honestly makes planning the week a little easier.
Also worth a quick moment, we just crossed 20,000 subscribers and we’re coming up on one year of this newsletter. Really grateful for all of you being here and sticking with it each week.
There’s a lot going on around the area right now, so let’s get into it.
-Mike

Main Events
Historic Downtown Dade City Farmers Market
Agnes Lamb Park, Dade City
Saturday, April 4 | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
This is one of those easy, laid-back markets that just feels like Dade City. You’ve got fresh produce, local honey, baked goods, meats, and a mix of artisan vendors, all set under the oak trees at Agnes Lamb Park.
It’s a good one to take your time with. Walk it, grab a few things, and just enjoy a slower Saturday morning in one of the more charming spots in Pasco.
Fresh Market at Wiregrass
The Shops at Wiregrass, Wesley Chapel
Saturday, April 4 | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
This is one of the easier markets to swing by if you’re already out and about. You’ll find a mix of fresh produce, baked goods, handmade items, and local vendors set up right in the middle of Wiregrass.
It’s a good “walk and browse” kind of stop. Grab a bite, check out a few vendors, and keep it moving, or hang around and make a morning of it.
Trinity Farmers Market + Kids Market
Generations at Trinity, Trinity
Saturday, April 4 | 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
This one’s already a solid weekend market, but the Kids Market piece is what really makes it stand out. Alongside the usual mix of produce, food vendors, and local goods, there’s a dedicated section where kids are actually running their own small businesses.
It’s a fun setup to walk through, especially if you’ve got kids with you. You get the full market experience, plus a chance to support some young entrepreneurs doing their thing.

Highlights
New Restaurant Quietly Filing in Zephyrhills
Something new is officially in the works along Stadium Drive. A concept called Zephyr Chills has filed plans for a restaurant space at 6536 Stadium Drive (Suite H), placing it right in the middle of one of Zephyrhills’ main dining corridors.
That’s where the details stop for now. No menu, no opening timeline, and no real hints at what kind of food they’re bringing. We’ll keep an eye on this one, and if you happen to see any signs go up or hear what’s coming, let us know.

New Chamber Launches in Wesley Chapel
This feels like a meaningful addition for the area. The Wesley Chapel Black Chamber of Commerce just officially opened, focused on helping small and minority-owned businesses get off the ground and grow.

The goal is pretty straightforward. Connect entrepreneurs with resources, funding, and the right people, especially for those who don’t already have those networks. Even before opening, they’ve already been helping local business owners make those connections.
With Wesley Chapel growing as fast as it is, this is the kind of support system that could make a real difference for people trying to build something locally.
$2.3B Rays Stadium Debate Continues
The proposed $2.3 billion stadium for the Tampa Bay Rays is still working its way through discussions, with local leaders now pushing for more transparency before anything gets finalized.
The team is expected to cover about half the cost, but there are ongoing concerns about how much taxpayers could end up contributing. Supporters point to job creation and economic impact, while others worry it could take funding away from other local priorities.
A vote could come as soon as mid-April, so this is something to keep an eye on over the next couple of weeks.

Big Retail Comeback in Citrus Park
That stretch along Gunn Highway has felt a little quiet lately, so this is a solid bounce back. Three national retailers, Nordstrom Rack, HomeGoods, and Total Wine & More, are all moving into The Plaza at Citrus Park, right near Gunn Highway and Citrus Park Drive, filling some of those long-vacant spaces.
Construction is already underway, and Total Wine looks like it may be first to open, though no dates have been announced yet. The space is being split into multiple storefronts, with a couple still available, so this may not be the last round of new additions.
There’s also a fourth tenant coming with KidStrong, a kids-focused fitness concept. Altogether, it’s a noticeable reset for one of the main shopping corridors in Citrus Park.
Dade City Plans New Staff Offices
This one’s more behind-the-scenes, but still worth noting. Dade City is looking at building a new $4.3 million office space specifically for city staff, mainly the teams handling permits, inspections, and local development.

The building wouldn’t break ground until at least the 2026–2027 fiscal year, and funding is still being worked through, including possible use of Penny for Pasco funds. Some commissioners are already weighing whether those dollars should go toward other priorities instead.
A Quiet Reminder for November
Buried in all the statewide education talk, there’s a small but important note for Pasco. Voters will be asked this November whether to continue a local property tax that helps fund teacher and school staff pay.
It’s already been approved for the 2026 ballot, so this is one of those decisions that’s quietly on the horizon. Worth keeping in the back of your mind as we head toward fall.

Pasco County Animal Services Presents: Dean

He’s a good boy
Dean (A040255) is a 6 year old black lab mix with some serious Border Collie vibes. He's hilariously vocal and playful. Dean's a solid pup at 68 pounds. He is dog social - Dean participates in play groups here at the shelter & gets along with dogs who like to play rough and rowdy. Dean is potty trained and knows some commands.
Dean has also shown his amazing personality as a PCAS Ambassador on special projects with Pasco Parks & at Pasco Utilities! He also got a special vacation stay at Embassy Pet Resort, a PCAS partner, where he got to play and enjoy pup cups. Dean would make a perfect addition to your family, or he can be your trail-hike BFF!

A Special Community in Land O’ Lakes
It’s always nice seeing outlets like The Laker/Lutz News keep track of stories like this for our area. The Let Us Do Good Village in Land O’ Lakes continues to grow, now welcoming three more families into a community built for injured veterans, first responders, and Gold Star families.
The neighborhood is designed with accessibility in mind, offering mortgage-free homes that help restore independence and day-to-day ease. It’s one of those places that quietly makes a big difference for the people living there.
It doesn’t always make headlines, but it’s genuinely something special happening right here in our community.
Antonio Brown Home Already Under Contract
That was quick. The Odessa mansion once owned by Antonio Brown is already under contract just 10 days after hitting the market.
The lakefront home near Keystone pulled multiple offers and reportedly went for full asking price, just under $4 million. Not too surprising given the location and demand for homes like that around here.
