Good Morning From Lutz,
The weather’s steady, the pollen’s finally dropped off, and summer camps are already filling up for the kids.
I did want to throw this out there, just from me, nothing paid. If you’re around 54 and Little, check out Craft Street Kitchen. The food is both sufficient and clever, the kind of menu that gives you exactly what you want but still surprises you a bit. It’s done right, the service is always on point, and somehow it’s still genuinely affordable.

Main Events
The Market Elaine
The Grove at Wesley Chapel
Friday, May 1 | 5:30 PM–9:30 PM
The Market Elaine is back at The Grove and it’s one of the better night market setups you’ll find around here. They bring in 150+ vendors, so there’s a ton to walk through, from handmade goods to food and everything in between.
It’s an easy Friday night option where you can take your time, grab something to eat, and just move through it at your own pace. They usually have live music and a good mix of vendors, so it doesn’t feel repetitive as you go.
Fresh Market at Wiregrass
The Shops at Wiregrass, Wesley Chapel
Saturday, May 2 | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
Fresh Market at Wiregrass is one of those easy Saturday stops where you can walk through a mix of local vendors, from produce and baked goods to handmade items. It’s a simple way to get out for a bit, grab something to eat, and spend some time browsing around the center.
Highlights
Crispy Smash Burgers Hit USF
There’s a new burger spot near USF that’s getting some early buzz, and it sounds like they’re doing it the right way. Byte, opened by three brothers, is built around simple smash burgers with crispy edges, fresh ingredients, and everything made in-house.
They’re keeping the menu tight and focused. Think hand-cut fries, milkshakes, and cookies, all made to order, with a late-night schedule on weekends that should land well with the USF crowd. It’s right on North 56th Street in Temple Terrace if you want to check it out.

Adorable
Ziggi’s Coffee Still Eyeing Wesley Chapel
Looks like Ziggi's Coffee is still working toward opening in Wesley Chapel, just moving at the usual development pace. The plan is a drive-thru spot off Hueland Pond Blvd, but it’s still been tied up in the planning and buildout phase with no firm opening date yet.
What’s interesting is how aggressively they’re expanding. Ziggi’s has around 100 locations already and hundreds more in development, and Florida is clearly part of that push. Around here, that usually means they see strong growth and a younger, on-the-go crowd worth building around.

Bucs Draft Is In the Books
If you follow the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at all, the 2026 draft is officially wrapped. I’m just dropping this here if you want to take a look at the full class and see who’s coming in next.
They leaned heavy on defense early, starting with Miami edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. at pick 15, then added pieces across the board through six rounds.

Community
70 Years Strong, Still Face-to-Face
Kind of refreshing to see this. San Antonio Citizens Federal Credit Union just celebrated 70 years and reopened its Zephyrhills branch after a full renovation, leaning into something a lot of places have moved away from… actual conversations.
Their whole approach is still built around “neighbor helping neighbor,” with local decision-making and a focus on sitting down with people for things like first homes, car loans, or just figuring things out. In a world of apps and logins, they’re betting that sometimes people just want to talk it through.

Swim Lessons Return to the Lagoons
I know you or someone close to you are probably looking for this. My own archaic methods probably aren’t the most widely accepted ;)

MetroLagoons is teaming up with Floatz to offer swim lessons from May through October at Epperson in Wesley Chapel and Mirada in San Antonio. They’ve got options for little ones all the way up through beginner youth, with short multi-week sessions and skill-based groupings.
Horse in the Drive-Thru (For Real)
If you thought the headline sounded exaggerated… it’s actually somehow more normal in the video. Guy casually pulls up on a horse, orders a drink, and the employee is fully locked in trying to process it like it’s just another Tuesday.
Best moment is still the walkie-talkie call: “Guys, we have a horse.” And yes, they really did debate how to ring it up in the system. (TikTok video)

Scam Alert Targeting Local Seniors
Quick heads up from the Pasco Sheriff's Office. They’re seeing a rise in scams going after older residents, with people being pressured to send money fast through cash, gift cards, or even handing it off to rideshare drivers.
This isn’t new, just evolving. If you want to see how these actually play out (and get a few laughs out of it), check out Kitboga’s YouTube channel. He spends hours messing with these exact scammers, showing how they create urgency and try to trick people. Same tactics, just a different day.

Rowdies Games Now on Local Radio
Nice little win for local soccer fans. The Tampa Bay Rowdies are teaming up with Beasley Media Group to air every game on Florida Alumni Radio (1100 AM) starting this season.
That means you can catch every match on radio or TV now, which makes it a lot easier to keep up whether you’re in the car or just not near a screen.

We’ll be on Instagram with updates wherever we end up. Feel free to slide into our DM’s.
